About the Rain

That rain is simple slobber
it does not suit my clothes
it renders a lawnchair useless
and makes a wet monkey of me
watch this storm system bloat
into a hand you can hold
oh damn that's not a hand
that's just a rubber glove
full of water and anyway
on Fridays I nap on the floor
while the cars sound like
an oily tide rolling in
it's so gorgeous inside
why would you ever leave?
